Kratic is a Sludge/Groove Metal band from Norway. The band was started in September 2005 by Christian Holte Bore, Marius Bjørnson, Lars Kristian Boquist, and Anders Auråker. Anders was around for a a short period of time before deciding to leave the band. After he left, the band did not really look for a bassist for a while. This was because they were still only playing rehearsals and holding off on playing shows until they had found their own musical style/sound.
After two years of experimenting, the three guys began to get a sense of what the band would sound like and decided to play their first gig.
At that point they asked their classmate Torgrim Lundquist if he would be interested in joining Kratic as a session bassist. This was because he actually was a guitarist and had never been a bassist in a band before that. The concert went much better than any of them had expected and the rush of finally playing Kratic songs live left them all wanting more. From the success of that gig, they all realised that Torgrim had a great chemistry in a band it was obvious that he would be right at home as a full-time member of Kratic. When the first concert was done, Kratic started setting up as many concerts as they could get and giving each concert as much energy as possible. Already by their third concert, they won a local "battle of the bands" which was strickly based on metal and punk groups. The award for winning that competition was a free demo recording in a studio in Asker with Christian Paulsen as the producer. The demo was called "A Greater Language" and consisted of four straight-to-the-point metal songs which were recorded in a couple of days. When it sounded decent enough to all their ears, they sent it to some metal music stores in Oslo to sell them and eventually got it played on High Voltage Radio. They continued playing several gigs that year and performed as a support band for such bands as She Said Destroy, Blood Tsunami, Criterion etc.One year after the demo, they went back into the same studio and recorded an EP which they named "Kingdom Of I". Although it was recorded in the same studio as the first demo, they produced it themselves and Marius mixed it at his home studio. Kratic are currently planning on recording a full-length self-release after the summer. So keep your eyes open for a new wave of Kratic madness!!
