About Me
The roots of the band are found in the early 1993 with five members gathered in the band called "Reborn". After the personnel changes the band officially started to work under the name "Holocaust" in July '95 with the following lineup: Å kokle - vocals, Andy - rhythm guitars, Kirk - lead guitar, Mome - bass guitar and Å argi - drums. The first appearance on stage was on "Gitarijada" festival in January 1996 where a totally new sound was presented through the songs "The Last Heartbeat", "Outlaw", and "Domination Of Sinners". The first more serious critics about the band came after the appearance at "Pop-Rock Fest '96" in Skopje where the band was defined as 'speed-trash metal band with ecological, pacifistic and human ideas in their music and lyrics' , and also proclaimed as 'a band that created the most modern and the most energetic rock & roll'- quoted by Ljubomir Grbevski Jerry, Ekran Magazine.Follows a number of performances in all major cities in Macedonia (--tip, Skopje, Kumanovo, Sv. Nikole, Josifivo (Valandovo), Probi--tip, Tetovo etc.). The concert in Tetovo was one of the best, organized by Kango, as a "Rock karavan", and although the stage was in the hotel lobby, the critics for the band and the response from the crowd was beyond expectations. The first independent concert that the band performed on was in 1997 at "Music Garden", Skopje, with appearance of "Ares" as an opening band. This concert has shown that Holocaust can play not only on festival gigs, but also is capable for organizing it's own concerts. The show was overcrowded and the response from the visitors was great.Along with live performances, the band was working on creating and rehearsing new songs. Personal life of the band members has led to a total change. The rhythm-guitarist Andy left the band because of his further studying in other city and marked his last appearance in the band on the concert in Sv. Nikole. In the meantime, while still looking for a rhythm-guitarist, Holocaust continued to work, with the songs adapted to a one guitar, made a couple of new songs and continued to play live. The best performance of the band as a four-member group was shown on "Rudar-Rock Fest 2002", where Holocaust performed as special guests of the festival. The next year, Holocaust gained another member, rhythm-guitarist Zlatko, former guitarist of "Ares". After a certain period of time, while practicing the old songs and working on the new ones, the band was faced with another pause. Lead-guitarist Kirk was out of the country for eight months, and while Holocaust continued the rehearsals, the band didn't performed on any gig. When Kirk came back, two other members, Mome and Zlatko left the country, and Holocaust became a three-member band. In the meantime, the recording of the demo was finished. After a period of two years, two new members joined the band. Darko on guitar and Mimi on bass guitar. First performance of this new line-up was captured on DVD in "Tiffany", Kumanovo. After this gig, Holocaust did an independent concert in --tip and was special guest on "Rock-Fest 2006" - 25th. anniversary. This was Holocaust's 10 year anniversary on "Rock-Fest". More concerts and gigs followed in all major cities in Macedonia, including "War At MKC", as a asupporting act for Nihilist on their album promotion. That's it for the history... Now for the future...
