Julien Beneyton was born in 1977 in Grenoble, Isère. In 2001, he graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris with honors granted unanimously by the jury. In 2002, he participated in the exhibition "l'Art c'est secondaire" organized by Christian Bernard. Two of his paintings entered the MAMCO collection (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Geneva). The same year, he began working with Galerie Alain Le Gaillard, and was presented at various art fairs including the FIAC in 2003, 2004 and 2005, as well as Arte Fiera in Bologna, Italy. In 2003, for his first solo exhibition, a catalogue was published with a First Exhibition Grant from the French Ministry of Culture and Communication (with articles by Christian Bernard and Didier Semin). As winner of the 2004 edition of the "International Art Workshop Pienkow" in Chelm, Poland, he exhibited at the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw. 2005 saw the exhibitions "Boost in the Shell" at the Cultural Center of Bruges and "Outdoor" at Matrix Art Project, in Brussels. His second solo exhibition took place at Galerie Alain Le Gaillard. The same year, he participated in "Summer Show" at The Carpenters Workshop Gallery, in London. He also exhibited in the group show, "L'oeil du Touriste" in Paris (curated by Jeanne Truong). In early 2006, he spent several months in New York. He exhibited with Galerie Alain Le Gaillard in "Show Off", at the Espace Pierre Cardin, Paris. The publication of a catalogue marks his third solo exhibition at Galerie Alain Le Gaillard.
