Nicholas Deutsch is majoring in Songwriting and Music business in the Gallatin School for Individualized Study at NYU.
After 12 years of Classical Piano with the Music Institute of Chicago, he was driven by a desire to compose and began studying jazz under the direction of Alan Swain with Swain Studios. With a mission to study as many different genre's of music as possible, he was an active in jazz band, swing choir and the American College Of Musicians national piano-playing auditions. In 2001, he began looking for his own vocal sound under the encouragement of Northwestern University's Vocal teacher, Melissa Foster. With a heart firmly located in Popular Music, he completed several demo's during this period, one of which landed on BuzzLighter Issue 15, a national independent distributor of unknown acts. Upon moving to New York he became active in the New York Songwriter's Circle where he currently studies under Director Tina Shafer. As part of his last semester at NYU he plans on completing a brand new EP and Showcase.
