About Me

I've been making music since the 60s, and work in a variety of styles. I am collaborating with a couple of excellent songwriters on some songs, and I create music for videos as well. My new solo instrumental CD, BLUE LIGHT, was released by Morrhythm Records. You can check it out at their web site . Search on my name and you'll find SOFT DREAMING BLUES, as well.I've performed at the Silver City (New Mexico) Blues Festival (twice), at the Tucson (Arizona) Folk Festival in 2006, at the Glenwood Folk Festival in 2003 and 2005, Pickamania (2008) and frequently appear at various clubs. My main passion is writing and arranging. I love to have my work used, incorporated into other people's presentations, for example. My songs have been used by Discovery Health Channel, Court TV and in other programs. I composed and recorded the underscore and theme song for a documentary for Oceans of Opportunity I also love writing for other singers!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.geocities.com/edteja
Band Members: I play around New Mexico with two bands: THE GYPSY FEET BAND (with Charlie Alfero, Shems Nickles and Greg Renfro) and as lead guitarist for Scott van Linge.

I am always working on new music, and meeting people who introduce me to new ideas and approaches. Some are musicians, some are lyricists, some are kindred spirits and well wishers. And the excellent Michael Sullivan helps make sure I have the electric guitar I want--check out the photos of the new custom Strat. Now we are working on revamping an older one for a different sound entirely.
Influences: Bob Dylan, Charles Ives, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Big Bill Broonzy, Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Gershwin, Benny Goodman, Stan Rogers, Lonnie Johnson, Sue Foley....
Sounds Like: The soft and mournful cry of a ship's whistle in the fog.
