"Music is Life"
Jeremy's undeniable passion for music developed in his early childhood years as he fell in love with classical and rock music. During his elementary years he was an accomplished clarinet player and scholar. As life progressed he found himself more interested and intrigued by heavy metal. He began to visualize himself playing in front of large crowds and entertaining them till their hearts content. The process of making his dreams a reality began to take shape.
In 1992, as a sophomore in high school he formed and fronted a metal band by the name of Discordance, which is defined as, "a massive array of sounds." It was in these formative years that his passion for music really took shape.
Fast forward 10 years to 2002. This is when a huge musical shift took place. It was from the roots of rock music and metal to the darker sounds of electronica that caught his attention. Jeremy recalls, "I was at Rubber's 6 year anniversary party and fell in love with the sounds that a certain Dj named Beej was throwing down. He was playing all these dark, haunting tracks that really caught my attention. I'm a metalhead at heart so the darker the song the better in my opinion. It was absolutely extraordinary! It was where I literally transformed from a metalhead to a fan of dance music overnight."
During his college years at Southern Utah University he was offered the opportunity to join the local radio station Power 91. He created his own specialty show appropriately entitled "A Little Bit Louder" and hosted the show as 'JF//DISCORD', which is a fusion of his initials, Jeremy Ferguson, and his previous band Discordance. The show was focused mainly around metal since the majority of his musical experience and knowledge was based in the genre. He presented the idea of forming a new show that was focused on electronic music to the program director of the station. It was well received and went under the name "Apocalypse." It was through this show that he learned to mix electronic music effectively. He also recieved many opportunities to play at parties, events and entertain the crowd in the process.
Jeremy graduated college in May of 2004 with a degree in Broadcasting/Interpersonal relations associated with the field of Communications. He is currently living in the Coachella Valley with his lovely wife Renata and their two pugs Diesel and Dozer. Jeremy continues to play for local clubs, special events and house parties. He loves spinning and is anxiously waiting for a chance to showcase his talents to a larger audience. For JF//DISCORD, music really is life.
