About Me

I am an Irish born Jazz guitarist/composer living in Dublin Ireland. The tunes I have composed & posted here were written with piano, trumpet & guitar in mind as the melodic instrument, but also could be used as Big Band arrangements. I have used a piano midi sound for convenience sake and to preview the tunes here. My compostions draw inspiration from the history of Jazz, the different styles and languages of Jazz improvisation & all the great Jazz musicians who have touched my life. All the tunes here are original tunes of mine I wrote by ear. I have mostly written and presented these tunes here as 'heads' to bebop tunes rather than full length improvisations, the melodies are complete, although they could be layed out in AABA fashion in most cases to create further listening time and improvisation.
The tunes tend to sound finished on the first run through because I have intentionally ended them early with finish chords/notes just to preview them here. I have copies of the original musical transcriptions on paper if anyone is interested in viewing them.
I hope to get these tunes on an album someday. For now I'm happy writing these tunes...success is finishing an original tune you can call your own...wouldn't trade that for anything...My other jazz composition page here is 'Alan Traynor'...it's first in my friends list below...

These are my original Jazz Tunes, all written within the last year or so...please feel free to contact me regarding further discussion of my work, or possible collaborations.
