About Me

I grew up in Hazelwood, MO as the youngest of four kids. I was very smart, got good grades, stayed out of trouble and thoroughly enjoyed high school. I went to Truman State University and majored in Physics. After a year or so I realized I couldn’t hack it so I changed my major to Spanish. By the time I had graduated college, I’d learned to play the bass guitar and to question what I had been taught about politics and religion. After college I was in a pop/punk/rock band called Somnia. We gained a small following in St. Louis and tried to get signed to a record deal. That didn’t happen.
Nowadays, I’m the lead singer and bassist in a cover band called Colonel Angus. We’re pretty damn good if I don’t say so myself. As my day job, I work for one of the world leaders in medical publishing as a hybrid of a secretary (not so fun) and a graphic/web designer (fun.) I’ve also completely forgotten how to speak Spanish because I’m stupid.
I’m recently single, having just come out of a 7.5 year relationship. Sometimes, the prospect of living by myself as a hermit for the rest of my life doesn’t seem like too far-fetched of an idea.
Let’s see, what else can I tell you - ahh, screw it. I’m just going to spout facts at random: I try to take a nap every day. . . I think the DVR is one of humankind's greatest inventions. . . I follow English Premier League soccer and I support Aston Villa. . . I love booze. . . I own and operate a t-shirt printing business with two of my best friends (www.tripleshotshirts.com). . . I think that video games used to be a lot cooler than they are now, even though I still play them. . . I collect Legos. . . I love old school rap (anything from the Golden Age of 1978 to 1995). . . I own a super cool Scion xB. . . I’m writing a novel that I hope to have finished sometime in the next 50 years. . . I love Mexican food.
Finally, check out this random dude playing the Budweiser song.
Let's go Blues/Cardinals/Steamers!!

C'mere

Lately I've been saying "c'mere, you" to inanimate objects. I'll be looking for the remote, I'll spot it over there on the coffee table, and I'll say "c'mere, you!" to it as I pick it up. Actually, th...

2008 Resolutions - Status Report

The year "two-thousand-and-eight" still sounds so futuristic to me, like some far-off year that won't get here for a long while.  So when I hear "two-thousand-and-nine", you can imagine how it ju...
