Credo - Bennan Murphy
A statement on the approach of an unimportant date
Disinterest would be good, but I am uninterested.
I feel a lack of connection, I couldn't (fucking) care less.
Non-aggressive, non-participation is my gloomy goal.
In personal affairs a staunch isolationist,
I urge my brothers and sisters towards co-operation,
So, hypocrisy is on my list.
If I could drop the 'I's like a Buddha
Well, let us call that a noble ambition.
For now I'm stuck with moi-meme
And the eyes are everywhere.
Hunger
Lust
A million monumental cravings.
Fattening food for hypocrisy.
The new-born is hardly a hypocrite
But neither is he restrained
In the attention
He instinctively calls upon his own needs.
At what point the first hypocrisy?
When he first differentiates
A need and a desire?
Possibly
But does not let on
Perhaps even to himself.
A city is a collection of petty desires.
The Vatican?
Well
They're just like the rest of us.
It starts with the trading I suppose
And the loss of the relationship
With the land
With nature.
When we build a city,
If we spare any thought for nature,
Other than human,
It is to hope that it will thrive elsewhere.
A park is a paltry gesture,
A zoo is an insult,
And if we spared a thought for true human nature
Would we build cities at all.
Western neuroses is not human nature,
Human nature is harmony like all other nature.
Human nature is harmony like all other nature.
