Giorgos Evaggelou

Well, well, well... I’m Giorgos Evaggelou and I am a session guitarist and bassist. I was born on December 26, 1983 in Katerini. By the age of eight I started playing the piano. Since I was fifteen years old, I started playing electric and clasic guitar, bass and bouzouki. By the age of sixteen I formed with a few friends a pop-rock band. I was playing bass and keyboards there. At seveteen I became a proffesional guitarist and started perfoming live concerts in Katerini as a member in small acoustic bands. From 1999 since 2001 I worked profesionally as a radio producer in Katerini. On the year 2001 I started my studies at Folk & Traditional Music Technological Institute of Education (TEI) in Arta. Since today I gave many concerts as a guitarist and bassist. I worked as a session guitarist from 2001 since 2007, the year that I finished my studies. At twenty I started to compose my own music, I made my first live and studio recordings and I started working occasionally (at home first and then proffesionaly) as a sound-engineer. Now I love recording everything I like and I compose. In Arta, as a student I met rebetiko music and I realized that this kind music is my biggest love. In Arta I participated in many tributes to rebetiko (tribute to Markos Vamvakaris, Basilis Tsitsanis, Giannis Papaioannou, tribute to rebetika performed only by guitars) and I worked for four years as a session guitarist by playing rebetiko.
