About Me
Joost Vuurs grew up with classical music; Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and many more...
He took piano lessons at the age of nine, up to many years. Growing up, he got in touch with popmusic, and starting rehearsing and performing on Fender Rhodes and synthesizer with some bands.
So he got therefore more and more interested in composition skills and inventing arrangements. Most important however was his passion to improvise on the piano, to create music by himself instead of repeating what someone else probably would have done better...
He worked more than 20 years at the Dutch National Radio company as an audio engineer, working intensively with multitrack recordings, computers, samplers and synthesizers.
Meanwhile his regular job he composed a lot of music for theatre productions, videos, movies and documentairies.
Joost emigrated to Italy November 2001 and lived there until August 2004. Over there he composed, arranged and produced the CD
'Umbria Impressioni' , impressed by the stunning beauty of the famous Central Italian region, Umbria.
This CD contains instrumental, quiet and romantic music, with strong roots in the classical music, referring to newage, and was performed on grandpiano, samplers and synths.
The music on 'Umbria Impressioni' is used for Reiki and meditation sessions; suits to both an interested listener or just as background music.
After his return to the Netherlands, he published two more CD's:
'Pianoworks', vol. 1 and 2 , which contain pieces of pianomusic in a classical mood, on grandpiano.
Since April and May 2005 Joost started composing and performing music meant as a guide for meditation and hypnosis sessions for RaVisie, a Dutch institute for NLP (neuro linguistic programming)-coaching and training. Again he created two CD's:
'Music for Induction', volume 1 and 2 .
Last year the CD
'Wonder dat van zelf' (Hypnosis vol. 1) was published by RaVisie, of course with Joost's music, but now with spoken hypnosis text by Ben and Bas Licher.
