Slow Horse was formed in 1997 in New York City. Their sound took its cues from their heavy 1970's rock influences like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, slowed them way the fuck down, and mixed them with the minimalist plod of slowcore bands like Low, Idaho, and the Swans.
Slow Horse released two albums; a self-titled and self-released debut in 1999 and "Slow Horse II," released by Berserker Records in 2001. They toured the United States and shared the stage with such legendary bands as Acid King, Beaten Back to Pure, Borgo Pass, Calamus, Devil to Pay, Dixie Witch, Earthride, Eternal Elysium, Fireball Ministry, Five Horse Johnson, The Glasspack, Gonzalez, Graves at Sea, Internal Void, Murderizer, Penance, Place Of Skulls, Puny Human, Raging Slab, The Rubes, Sofa King Killer, Solace, Sons Of Otis, Sour Vein, Spickle, Spirit Caravan, Throttlerod, Tummler, Unida, Warhorse, Weedeater, Witch Mountain, Wooly Mammoth and Yob.
Slow Horse has been inactive since 2003, but there is still music available at the Smoking In Bed Records website.
Slow Horse is in no way affilliated with these guys or these guys .
