About Me

Hello! My name is Lauren C. Mayher and I'd like to welcome you to the MySpace page for The Legend of Darien! Here, you will be able to check for updates as well as some information about the four-part series. My website is also up and will be adding more information there: WWW.THELEGENDOFDARIEN.COM .
In the meantime, here is the summary of Book I: A Hero Rises:
In the medieval world known as Monahelm, the working class was finding it difficult to make a living. Oblivious to their poor conditions and the various dragon attacks on their villages, Aernon had grown up believing he was a prince of the Hemlon Kingdom—that is, however, until a magical sage named Karah informs him of his true identity: Darien the Dragonslayer.
Switched at birth with the real prince, Darien the Dragonslayer is a prophesized legend who most people have come to believe is only a myth. There are tales of this hero fighting these rampaging dragons and gathering a grand army to fight off dark forces. He will also be capable of wielding such powerful weapons that only he will be able to use. Aernon—now as Darien—and Karah must help fulfill his destiny in order to save the people of Monahelm from a dark and powerful force…even when it means fighting against the only people he has known as his family.
A common question that's asked is what's the story like? I tell people that if you like Harry Potter and/or Lord of the Rings, then you'll like The Legend of Darien series. With enjoyable characters, action, and comedy with knights, dragons, and sages, it is a fast read that leaves you wanting the next book.
