Influences: /////a few collected rave cd's from the early to mid 90's (with trance, jungle, and dub styles). i'd had limited exposure to electronica up until the influence became more mainstream./////...in 1999 peter kruder's peace orchestra 2000 (also have "shining" remixes on vinyl) and his k&d sessions, from 1998, w/ richard dorfmeister, made a profound impact on my listening focus...also listened to their dj kicks album, from 1996, and conversions, from 1999, quite a bit./////...certainly have used these cd's plenty since they have scratches all over them now./////...while revisiting these mixes frequently, for inspiration, i draw from their down-tempo and trip hop mixes and listen just to chill out to./////...i really dig the sultry coolness of these compositions and the faster-tempo stuff as well - a major contribution to the drum & bass sub genre. i'm influenced by their approach to de-constructing sound while generating heady jams & rhythmic soundscapes./////also/////music for the film koyaanisqatsi, by philip glass/////...i also enjoy genres such as bossanova, blues, fusion jazz, ambient, psychedelic, reggae, funk, punk, classic rock, indie rock, post rock, house, and r&b. other influences, in a wide spectrum, include pink floyd, chemical brothers, sonic youth, sergio mendes, brian eno, phillip glass, massive attack, thievery corporation, daft punk, fatboy slim, orbital, & tortoise (to name just a select few).
