Groove Pocket

Sublime mixed with The Red Hot Chili Peppers

About Me

What do you get when you throw a bit of Sublime, mixed with a little Phish, and add a splash of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, but with Lemmy from Motorhead on the vocals? Groove Pocket!!!
Groove Pocket is a groove-oriented rock band that transcends all age groups and musical tastes. GP is one of the hardest driving bands on the east coast. They are sponsored nationally by Dirtbag Clothing ; and have arrived in the club's radar over the past few years.
After releasing their much anticipated debut album, "Everything's Whatever", in 2004, GP became respected for their blend of strong melodies, solid lyrics, and emotionally charged vocals. "Everything's Whatever" rocks where it should, but also incorporates additional sonic elements including keyboards, strings and world percussion. They certainly display impressive musicianship, memorable lyrics and a whimsical stage presence that have captivated audiences throughout the East Coast and have left their ears filled with more hooks than a tackle box.
Groove Pocket’s touring schedule kept them on the road for more than 150 dates out of the year in 2006. Their website www.groovepocket.com, received well over 100,000 hits this year from all over the US and as far away globally as Japan and Italy. GP is building a devoted fan base well beyond the North East Region and with a mailing list of thousands, there's no sign of letting up.
One of Groove Pocket’s highest achievements came in February of 2006 when the band received the Groove Rock Section Track of the Week award on GarageBand.com’s website. The band also was awarded Best Male Vocals, Best Guitars, Best Drums, Best Bass, Best Lyrics, Best Beat, Best Mood and Grooviest Rhythm by the listeners of the website. Also, in December 2006 the band became a finalist (top 12 out of 160 bands) in the Bodog Music Battle of the Bands competition, for the Philadelphia Region.
Groove Pocket has had the honor of sharing the stage with such acts as, The Baha Men, The Coasters, Fighting Gravity, 2 Skinnee J's, The Ernies (Mojo Records), Sev (Geffen Records), Innasense, and P-One.
2007 looks to be a banner year for Groove Pocket, as they are already booked well into June. The band is currently preparing to begin pre-production on their sophomore album and will be heading back into the studio in February to begin the recording process.
It is often said that music is and should be a live experience, and that an artist's true nature can be determined by its live abilities. When Groove Pocket takes the stage it's quite clear that their incomparable musical abilities make them no ordinary band.
So if you're looking for a great party and a shared feeling of high emotion, follow Groove Pocket to shake and sing all night long.
