Ulteria Motive - "when you are doing something different to what is obvious or evident."
All members brought up with different musical backgrounds, with similar interests but different influences. Such as The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Jackson, Greenday, Linkin Park etc.
Ulteria Motive started of in early 2007. Glenn Smith, Andrew Brown, Andrew Millward, and Michael Robinson formed after performing together in college music projects.Ulteria Motive worked hard on writing new material together and later recorded the demo Rough Idea.
Over the year, Motive went from winning competitions, to putting on lively, energetic shows across South Wales.
Towards the end of 2009, Motive were scouted by a company called Jar Music Promotions, which invited the boys to play in a series of live events and showcases, filmed by the princess productions (Channel 4), and in front of many music professionals such as NME, Radio 1 and other major music labels. Getting some excellent advice and some great reviews.
Biggest show to date was end of 2009, Carling Academy Islington London (2 weeks after The Kings of Leon released the album Only By The Night, on the same stage) - Attendance 1000+.
