About Me

Hi, My name is Perseus Middleman. I'm a 17-year-old trainee wizard, or at least I was until I was expelled from "The Order of the Open-Hand". My whole world collapsed around me, but not for long as it turns out that I was the subject of a long-forgotten prophecy. An ancient tale of a lost city of gold.
OK, I'm actually a fictional character, albeit the lead, in "Perseus Middleman: Thaumaturgic Adventurer" by P.Stuart Elliot - available from Authorhouse publishing
Thaumaturgic means "performer of miracles" or magician or wizard which are both a lot easier to spell. But those college professors love using those long words.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

...the guy that's chronicled my adventure. When he's not making stories up, he's travelling the country meeting celebrities.
That's him with Chris Barrie (Rimmer from Red Dwarf). What a poser...

... and here he is with Toyah Wilcox...

Perseus Middleman: Synopsis

Thaumaturge (noun - rare), a performer of miracles; magician, thaumaturgic (adj)
Adventurer (noun), a person who seeks adventure, esp. one who seeks success or money through daring exploits.
Everyone knows the legend of Auricopolis, City of Gold. The story of how a lone sailor, Jeremiah Kroll, discovered the fabled island and was given an amulet by its inhabitants to help him find his way should he ever wish to return there. However, what is not commonly known is the fact that buried amongst ancient texts is a prophecy pertaining to a young wizard, who one day will also make the same discovery.
Unfortunately for those who like prophecies to work out neat and tidy, the young wizard-to-be gets expelled from one of the world’s top magical schools for a crime he did in fact, unknowingly commit, thus destroying any thoughts he had about plying his trade in the mystical arts. Nevertheless for Perseus Middleman, the Thaumaturgic Adventurer-to-be, this is the very event that speeds him on a date to his destiny with the exotic princess of the island. But before he gets the girl, he's going to have to figure out the disturbing nightmares in which he pushes her over the edge of a very high palace wall, and he'll find that a lot easier than the perilous journey to Auricopolis.
It is a journey that he won't make alone. On the way he'll befriend Grinto, a market-wrecking 6’11" grey-skinned behemoth for whom the sign "Wet Paint" has a completely different meaning, and together, all they'll have to do is locate a crewed ship, find the amulet and sail to the lost city.
With a young cabin boy to help them and the sometimes unwelcome assistance of Mr. Feathers, the world's most evolved and sarcastic parrot, they will succeed on their quest. But they'll have to overcome treacherous caverns, giant squids, an experimental diving suit, unconventional lavatory arrangements, a snake God, an angry fiance, a jealous cousin and a quite horrific piece of medieval machinery. And that's not forgetting about the tribe of nearly naked warrior women and the forces of greed and evil that have engineered this whole escapade.
