JOSE ANGEL GONZALEZ a.k.a."MR.EXTREMO" Born in El Paso, Texas 08/22/58 Born with his father's love for music. Jose M.Gonzalez bought him his first electric guitar at age 7. Learning all the traditional mexican songs,and following his father's singing he quickley got the ear for music. But it was at age sixteen when he heard for the first time a SANTANA recording. Making his best effort to mimick his new insperation. Living in the Bay Area and infuenced also by his mother Clementina Gonzalez, he soon began a conglamoration of styles of playing the guitar and singing. From Tex/Mex, Rock/Oldies Funk and anything in between. Before "Mr.Extremo" there was "Grupo Extremo" A band that was formed in 1978 with the idea of playing the traditional "Cumbias" and "Rancheras"with the contemporary hits of the time."grupo Extremo" gained great local popularity with it's diverse and bi-lingual abilities.soon playing Weddings ,Quinseaneras, and local nightclubs such as " Miguels" in Hayward and "La Pinata" in Oakland. Making his soloist debut as "Mr.Extremo" he records his own rythem tracks in his studio. and performs to this day. Mr.Extremo is also a song and "jingle" composer writing "jingles for local busnisess.see (www.mrextremo.com)
