Since I taught ballroom dancing when I was young, it is still a big part of my life. I actually have several friends who I dance with that I worked with when I was 18 years old! And, Larry is learning ballroom & doing great. I also like working out at the gym several days a week, riding my bike around town, swimming in the summer and rollerblading on the bike trails. I enjoy a nice dinner with friends, good conversation, maybe a movie or getting dressed up for a play in L.A. Of course, a night at the Magic Castle with Brad and Al is always great!
I always wanted to meet a really special guy that I could enjoy my life with. But, my choices in the past have proven to be not so great and I had pretty much given up that thought. Then, a year ago I actually met that "one in a million" wonderful guy! We have such fun in all the things we do, especially traveling in his beautiful motorhome to visit friends & family & seeing all the new places. Larry is absolutely everything I could want, and trust me.. it's marvelous to be in love...at any age!!
Van Morrison is my favorite, but I like a lot of different music. Norah Jones, for sure..Rod Stewart on the old songs, some country, lots of dance music, and any good blues..like BB King.
I love movies! From Shrek to Million Dollar Baby. Of course, I prefer to just be entertained, with light-hearted romance or comedy, but also enjoy a serious one if it's not too depressing or overly violent.
Love the Sopranos, but have to admit, I avert my eyes during any torture scenes.. And, on regular TV, I never miss Boston Legal & Smallville! I was really bummed when they finished Gilmore Girls, I loved that show. Big Love on HBO is quite a kick too..
I don't have as much time to read as I like so I listen to a lot of books on tape when on my road trips to Seattle or driving back & forth to Long Beach. I like everything from romance to mystery to lite sci fi. Atlas Shrugged is one of my all time favorites. I loved The DiVinci Code. (they really screwed up the movie though) A good murder mystery or a Jackie Collins love story keeps me awake while I'm driving a long way.
I have great respect for people who put themselves out to help others. So, Bill Gates is one..he donates millions to children's charities. Of course, that didn't happen until he got married..(what does that tell you guys?) And, Princess Diana's death was a true tragedy for the world. Statistics show that poor people give a higher percentage of what they have to charity than wealthy people. So, it's great to see someone like Oprah doing so much good in Africa. And most of all, the troops who protect the freedom and comforts we all enjoy.
