Paper Mountain

We are Paper Mountain, an acoustic based singer/songwriting team. We are private voice, piano, guitar, and bass instructors by day and performing artists by night. We just completed our first 7 song EP together entitled "View from Above" with Alice as songwriter, fingerpicker, and vocalist and Sean as the lead acoustic and electric player. Jeff Hofmann (bass) and Todd Cooper (drums) pitched in to add sparse, but much needed, accompaniment. Since the release of the album we have been pleasantly surprised by the praise and play we have received on radio stations in the area. Paul Shagrue (of 89.5 FM "Out of the Box") said there are some "beautiful acoustic songs" on the album. Hunter Hughes (of 93.7 BOB FM "Sunrise on Sundays") has palyed our songs multiple times and had us in the studio a few times for a live show. Most recently, we recorded live for Dr. Barry Graham's show "Acoustic Highway" on 89.5FM as well as an hour long show for WRRW Revolutionary radio in Williamsburg. We hope for more radio airplay soon to come in the Blue Ridge mountain area, where the album was recorded in 3 LONG days at Flat Five Studios (thanks Dave McDonald for your endless patience and encouragement!!). As for musical genres, we both enjoy blues, jazz, rock, old-school country, classical, soul, and acoustic music of all types. We draw from all types of sounds, new and old, for inspiration and just to make us feel ALIVE. That's what we do it for--to feel "present" in the moment.
