DIY Scandinavia is a project started in Umeå, Sweden early 2006 as a development of ideas and discussions thruout the Scandinavian Punk/Hardcore scene the last couple of years.
The idea is in a small perspective to make it easier for foreign bands but also Scandinavian acts to tour this northern area of Europe.
We hope to develope in 2007 with a bookingcommunity to make the unity better between gigpromoters and organizations in all of the Scandinavian countries. There is a bad tradition over here due to history were we seperate ourselves and activly badmouth each other countries. This is especially the situation conserning Finland which is by many more a part of the Baltic States than Scandinavia in Punkcommunties. We want to change this.
We are also trying to buy a van for rent along with backline and driver and we have some small sideprojects were we are working more directly towards the things we see as problems, easy to correct to make a better situation for touring bands. We try to help out getting in contact with the promoters who won't fuck up for you and set a higher standard for bands.
