The Waterdog Nation was founded in Lawrence, KS. The songs are influenced by travels across the US, and life experience.The Waterdog Nation didn't come into works until Joe Schreiner moved to Lawrence, KS in May 2006. Leaving behind the band, The Ded Waits in Emporia, KS. Hard feelings between a few memebers, and himself, Schreiner was replaced as their rhythm guitar player.If you are a resident of Lawrence, KS and you have been on Mass. St. at night for the last few years, you might know Schreiner as one of the many buskers. He first started playing some of his own songs, and covers as well. Finding that he found himself more comfortible playing and singing his own songs, he stopped playing as many covers, and stuck to his own.The people of Lawrence seemed to enjoy the music, and began to interact with Schreiner. He, shortly after that, decided that he would try to make a demo cd, and then eventually a full album.Working with Terrell Studios on the demo cd, Schreiner got 5 songs gone. Not the way he wanted it, but it was done no less. The day Schreiner and Terrell Studios got the cd done, Schreiner left to California, with McCoy, his girlfriend. Schreiner ended up playing 10 gigs, in 5 cities, and 2 states. Only one gig was promises to Schreiner. He and McCoy set up the rest, by walking into places, talking with people, dropping off demo cds.With the mini tour under Schreiner's belt he was ready to come home, and get ready to do his first full album. Schreiner called his cousin and best friend, James Lindsey aka Mr. Negativity, of Topeka, KS. This album Schreiner entitled, "Out of the Pan, Into the Light".Mr. N- gave Schreiner full control of what happened with the cd, and even helped out with voices and vocal parts. Putting most of the songs that Schreiner had wrote while on his mini tour on this album, he is planning another album with his older songs on it...
