I am a Fish

About Me

30-something scuba diving techie, triathlete, of artistic leaning, new to the MySpace world. Today is a good day to do something...

My Interests

Scuba diving, triathlons, art, running, country pubs, swimming in the sea, real ale, cycling, gigs, long walks, looking good and feeling good, travelling & exploring new places, eating in & out, Spurs, laughing about silly things...

I'd like to meet:

People I know and love, and people I don't know

Music:

More recently, semi-acoustic low-fi, but a wide mix in my CD collection. Well represented - Everything But The Girl, David Sylvian, Japan, Paul Weller, Level 42, Tears for Fears, Kate Bush, Kings of Convenience, KT Tunstall, John Martyn, Talk Talk (in latter years), Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young, The Charlatans, Emiliana Torrini, Feist, Sigur Ros, Sarah McLaughlan, Prefab Sprout, REM, Turin Brakes, Goldfrapp etc etc.

Movies:

Anything with a bit of thinking. Big explosions and special effects don't do it for me.

Television:

Not a lot. Comedies (Little Britain, Catherine Tate etc), sports, and documentaries. Reality TV has had it's day. Property/home improvement programs are so yawn. Switch off the TV and get outdoors!

Books:

Real life, travelling themes, sports autobiographies

Heroes:

My parents. Other than that, we are all heroes, or at least amazing...

The First Day of Summer (In Spring)

Today is a glorious day by the sea.  The sun is out, and it's warm for a light shirt with sleeves rolled up.  Waking at leisure this morning (for me, that's still 8am), with no work to go to...

The End of Dating (Before it has Begun)

Well, yesterday, the latest membership of my DatingDirect profile finally lapsed after a month.  The latest of several failed attempts to meet my soulmate... or indeed anyone... on this, and othe...

The Police

I'm very happy today.  Well, maybe not happy, but excitied in anticipation.  This is because The Police, one of the most important and entertaining bands of my early era of music, have decid...

Under the Influence

Many things happen when under the influence of alcohol.  An obvious statement perhaps, but one which hold a degree of truth.  Take my current activities for example.  Having taken a mod...

Donkey, My Friend

Well, it's been a difficult last several days.  A few things have upset me, in truth, but I've largely kept these to myself and got on with it.  My Dad's health isn't so good, and my ba...

A New Coffee Table and the Full Moon

Where do I belong?A question that plays on the minds of many?  Or perhaps just those of us who think too much, and do too little.  Maybe like me, although in the last 14 months I've done qui...
