About Me

I am rarely on myspace anymore. If you need to contact me, write me on my email - [email protected].
Hello! My name is Shawn O'Trimble. My life lives through music. I currently teach guitar lessons to about 60 students at Donna Allen's Keyboard Center in Topeka. I find joy in watching them grow up as people and musicians. I have 4 students that have full ride scholarships to universities. One of them has a scholarship to KU, a great accomplishment, as they only give out one a year. I am currently doing music ministry at the country jails as well with Pastor Martin Schmidt.
I have a wife, Teri, and two kids, Shawn, 12 and Zara, 5. Teri is a photographer and very good at it. She took most of the pictures that are on my pics pages. Check out her website at www.photographybyteri.net.

Before moving back to Topeka from Nashville, TN, I toured with Jabberwockie, my brainchild, opening for some big name acts, and I worked for Gibson Guitars at their Custom Shop. I got to help make guitars and meet some of the nicest people in the music business, such as Peter Frampton, Paul Stanley, Andy Summers, Owsley, Pete Townsend, and many others. I even met several country and Christian artists such as Vince Gill, Brooks and Dunn, and Amy Grant. It feels very good to see some of those guitars on TV and at concerts. The ironic thing is I love and only play Ibanez guitars. :) Les Paul is too heavy!
Currently I am the Praise and Worship Director of Music at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church in Southwest Topeka. It's basically at 29th and Indian Hills, for those of you who know where that is. We are now offering a 3rd service which features contemporary worship music, starting at 10:45 every Sunday morning. We have been welcomed by the church and the Pastor and are excited to keep going with our mission God has brought to us.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'm a huge Steve Vai fan, and I got to meet him in 2003 at a show in Kansas City. I wish I could have met Frank Zappa before he passed away. I'd love to meet Peter Gabriel and Casting Crowns. I would also enjoy meeting Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Tom Sylvani.
