About Me

Timea Eva Nagy, produced and directed music videos for Hungary’s best acts in pop music and hip hop. She was only 16 when she began her career at a local TV station as an announcer for their music segment. She completed her degree in Film and Communication at Elte, Budapest, while she maintained her job at the TV station. At the age of 17 she founded her company Independent Movie Makers and started to become her own producer for her live to air shows. She wrote, produced and hosted her own live to air shows, where she interviewed up and coming or legendary Hungarian and American musicians. Some of these were the Back Street boys, Britney Spears, Enigma, and Run DMC just to name a few.Her talent and work quickly gained notoriety in the industry. The top artists slowly started to recognize Timea’s fresh & unique vision and started to collaborate with her on smaller projects. She developed professional relationships with Hungary’s top artists and became the number one choice as a video/concert/documentary producer. She was only 17 when she earned her first industry accolade winning the “Break Through” Director of the Year for the Silver Voice Award. She then went on to work with labels like EMI, Sony Music Hungary, BMG Ariola Hungary, Warner Hungary and Polygram. At the age of 19 she became interested in foreign affairs, as they related to political and social issues. She landed an intern job at the Hungarian Pesti Black Box Production company as a documentary research assistant. She has worked closely with award winning documentary director Pesti Fekete Laszlo. During her time at the Pesti Production company, she had the privilege to work on a crew that was very unique in its endeavors. The Pesti crew was one of the first European crews that was allowed to visit North Korea with cameras and allowed our members to stay there for a two week period.Timea’s dream, however, was to live in North America. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 20. During her first years in Canada she worked for small local papers in Toronto, and also worked for the Hungarian-Canadian local television station as a segment assistant. In 2004 she had the honor to work with Ric Esther Bienstock as an expert for an Emmy award winning documentary called the Sex Slaves. She has also kept her contacts and partnerships from Budapest, Hungary with the Pesti Black Box production company. In 2006 she was officially employed as a foreign correspondent. As a hobby Timea started to volunteer for organizations such as United Way, Distress Centre, and Leave out Violence to gain more experience about the non profit world and how they work to help out their communities. She then began to independently develop fundraising events, mainly for youth oriented organizations. She became heavily involved with the Future Aces Foundation when she saw the impact of the program first hand.In 2004 her partner at the time, tragically lost his life. After conducting extensive research for several years, Timea decided to create a project to stop Gun and Youth Violence in North America, called No More Violence. Timea has recruited American Celebrities to help her achieve the “impossible”; stop gun violence once and for all. The project is currently under development. In October, 2008 Timea officially received her International Press Association Identification, which will allow her to arrange one on one interviews with North American working actors and celebrities for her documentaries. Timea is presently living in Toronto, Canada and working as a freelance journalist, producer, and documentary maker...
