About Me

Sickshot exists because it needed to beginning simply as a release of personal expression, it is a sonic standpoint filling the void left in today's music market with its pounding, complex rhythms and powerful, soaring melodies. These and other elements have combined to offer an incredibly modernistic approach to aggressive rock. §Culminating in 2005, Sickshot was a vision before it became reality. Shepard Stacy and Brian Craddock played together in mid-Atlantic favorites My Dog Lucy, sharing a love for powerful songs that reach out and grab the listener. Lost and unfulfilled after the bands demise in 2003, Brian began his quest for a sound that would satisfy his hunger for something more. While helping other artists as part of an up-and-coming production team, Brian began his personal search. After eighteen months of composition, de-construction and re-creation, Brian realized that he had finally discovered the sound and direction he had searched his entire musical life for, and he needed to give it life. He immediately approached Shepard to experiment with lyrics and melody, but more importantly to lay down his trademark vocal style on what would later become the original Sickshot demos. The child had no name, but it had finally been born. To truly live, now it needed legs §Both Shepard and Brian knew the other members in the group needed to be extraordinary musicians in order to pull off live what they had put down on the demos. Brian knew immediately that the only drummer for the project was his production partner Kevin Murphy, member of regional powerhouse Earth to Andy, who had also recorded and toured with multi-platinum/Grammy nominated Tonic, and indie superstars Jimmies Chicken Shack. Since Kevins playing gathers respect from all who witness it, Brian and Shepard knew he would be the only man for the job. Kevin, as it would turn out, was looking for something to satisfy his idiosyncratic taste as well, and seeing the potential for musical freedom and expression that Sickshot could offer, he opted in. §Still one member short, the three accomplished musicians knew that holding down the low end and creative arranging of Sickshot could not be handled by just anyone. They decided to approach long time friend, Drew Worsley, lead singer, and amazing bass player for the incredibly unique group Navel. If he was able to share their vision, Drew would be a perfect fit for their sound. He heard the early, beginning demos and it was enough. He was in. Now, suddenly, the band had another weapon. The band was complete §Sickshot was alive. §
