Joanne Lediger

Born and raised in Rockland County New York, Joanne Lediger is a vocalist who has been performing live and recording with bands professionally for the past 20 years and has studied under Penn State's vocal master, Mary Saunders. Her scope of musical styles and inspirations cover a lot of ground, from rock to blues to bluegrass, folk and Irish music.Joanne was interested in music and fine art at an early age, playing the cello, drawing, painting and writing. While majoring in Fine Art at Elizabeth Seton College in Yonkers NY, she began to focus on singing in various projects and consequently moved up to Woodstock NY with her band at the time, Shooky Bones. In addition, Joanne began doing session work in studios and eventually joined with a national touring act Stir Fried (stirfried.com) and was able to tour with them for about 5 or so years. Stir Fried released 3 Cd recordings which allowed her to record with artists such as Vassar Clements, Derek Trucks, Dr.John, Buddy Cage(NRPS), Bernie Worell(P-Funk), JoJo Herman (Widespread Panic) and Tony Trischka to name a few. Joanne is currently playing with a bluegrass/Americana combo McMule (www.mcmule.com) as well as playing with slide guitarist and songwriter Robert Hill (www.roberthillband.com} and also keeping busy with the usual studio gigs and side projects as well. She is also currently recording her own solo release. Recently, the old line up of Stir Fried w/Buddy Cage reformed and recorded a live DVD (in 3D!) with Micheal Kang from String Cheese Incident out in Denver Colorado using Astoundsound 4D Audio Technology. Release is expected in 2009. In addition to music Joanne is a graphic designer/photo retoucher and is currently working with David Kramer Productions for an upcoming Jimi Hendrix television documentary and creating graphics for his entertainment booking department as well.
