Barbie is a pop-rock band based in June 2006. Basic instruments: drums, guitar, bass and vocals - together they make quite classical sound. But they're songs are catchy and cool. But let’s start from the beginning!
- In the end of study year two guys decided to find two more musicians and make music together. 5 years earlier they already tried to make a band, one of them was singing and another was playing violin. Now, after 5 years, V. Navrotsky was still singing but only in the shower, and his friend Stas have played in many bands and changed violin on bass. They found drummer and guitarist. It was a time for a first rehearsal. The drummer didn't come. They called another guy. He came in 20 minutes. Since that moment A. Matzevich is the drummer in Barbie. After one month of rehearsals the guitarist refused to play in Barbie, because he had another project and preferred it. They found A. Kiselev. He was not really good guitar player, bat he wanted to make music. They had only one condition: "no styles, no rules, we make a music that we like". By the end of the summer they made up this name for their band: 'Barbie'. They had some ideas like 'better days', 'chutzpah' and couple more stupid variants. But when they heard this, it was of no doubts, that it would be the name of their band for good.
- In the fall 2006 they had their first concert. It was in a small Moscow rock club. It was great fiasco. After that Stas's interest went down and by the New Year They had to change the bass player. Since January 2007 N. Bolushaev became a bass player of Barbie.
- Time was passing, guys were rehearsing, making new songs, getting read of some old that was not good for them any more, changing and growing. Buy the New Year 2008 musicians realized that they haven't been rehearsing for half a year just because none of them wanted to be administrator, manager, producer or any of that kind. After getting the manager of the band guys started to make their music of their third period. Songs like 'So Call Me', 'Diamond Rain', 'Beautiful America', 'Got Me Wrong' and many others. It was the start…
