The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra, Victoria's legendary gypsy-ska band, returns to Canada with the release of their second ep "The Double EP", once again breaking genre boundaries in one fail swoop of gypsy-ska-folk-grass mayhem.
The summer of 08 marked a huge change for The TMO. After the release of their first , self titled EP, the band’s underground, local, and extremely enthusiastic following grew as their previously unheard of style of Gypsy-ska graced the stages of Ska Fest in Victoria, Sugar, and many other reputable venues around the West Coast of Canada. One fan was quoted after their show at Ska Fest as saying: “TMO stole my gypsy virginity, and I have been stalking them ever since. Not to get it back, but because it was so good….â€
As TMO’s following grew, it was decidedly time to head to the land where their musical influences were derived from, and an extensive 4 month tour in Europe began, as did the beginning of their international recognition.
Now, with thier new ep, recorded in Vienna, September 08, and an ever more developed and matured sound, The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra is ready to tour North America during the spring and summer of 2009, and deliver to the crowds what was undeniably in demand through out Europe!.
