Remko de Landmeter, born in Rotterdam, Holland, graduated from the Brabants Conservatory in classical flute.
After this studies he started to play the bansuri, the bambooflute from India, and became one the specialists in Europe on this instrument. During his travels in India he was taught by flutists Harsh Wardhan and Hari Prasad Chaurasia ass well with Z.M. Dagar the ‘master of drupad’, the ancient meditative Indian music.
His versatility brought him in contact with musicians from all over the world and he developped a flexible way of playing on the flute, altoflute, bassflute, bansuri and many other flutes in improvisation and worldmusic.
With a primary intention to extend the use of the flute he has performed classical music, jazz, Indian music and Brazillian music and worked for theatre and with dancers.
