About Me
Like all women, apparently, I'm multi-skilled and have a dual identity. As the little woman at home, I run my husband's business in an extraordinarily efficient way, typing, bookkeeping, dealing with the VATman and chasing non-paying customers. But my other identity is far more interesting, as I've been writing for the past twenty five years at least, and have published three books. One - a self-help book - is out of print now, but the others are available. The Fruit of the Tree is a true story of me and mine. A Bottle of Plonk is fiction - about, well, about a bottle of wine, would you believe, which is taken from one story to another. A Bottle of Plonk is also shortly to be published in America under the name, Have Wine Will Travel. My most recent book came out in May and is the story of American adoptee, Addie, who is left a house in Surrey, and visits England in a search for her roots and her identity.I write under the name of Jacquelynn Luben and apart from my books I write articles and short stories.Read more about me at my website: http://freespace.virgin.net/jackie.luben where you'll find much more detailed information, or on my blog: http://jackieluben.blogspot.com/

We've been out today - M with a torn calf muscle and me with a cold.
Yesterday, I wasn't sure I should contemplate visiting, but with

What to put on a canape
Like half the country, no doubt, I watched The Apprentice tonight. Though I never normally watch 'reality TV', I'm an Apprentice addict - if only for the expressions on Nick's and Margaret's faces a...

A Missive to the West Country
I've just returned from a chilly walk - the weather is to be even colder tomorrow, I hear. But at least I got my half hour session in today - and the daffs are still beautiful. I posted some letters -...

Bridesmaid Revisited
Spring isn't spring without daffodils. But I haven't that many in my garden, above; there's always a conflict between filling the garden with them, and then having to put up with the foliage for the n...

Men in the roof
The job of insulating the roof has, so far, been fated not to happen. The first arrangement for the fitters to come was cancelled on the morning they were to arrive. Bear in mind that we were told t...

The Changing Garden and Short Silences
There was a dramatic change in the weather, yesterday after the last few calm days, a horrible windy day that flattened many of my crocuses. And the purple colour looked sad and dark, without the s...
