Our mission is to protect the future of the rainforests, its people, and the planet by tapping the power of the global marketplace. Our goal is ensuring that the Earth's forests' continue to function as our best natural defense against global warming.Through historic conservation agreements, we are helping create one of the most innovative and comprehensive rainforest conservation programs in the world. As the heart, soul, and social-conscience of this ambitious endeavor, the RainTrust Foundation plans to protect millions of acres of tropical rainforest and other biodiverse forest areas in the coming year. And many millions more in the years to come.Our innovative strategy for fighting global warming is sound, both ecologically and economically, and represents a new "Eco-nomic" philosophy for using market forces to implement significant change in the most socially-responsible manner.By forging strategic partnerships with governmental and non-governmental groups (NGOs), as well as like-minded companies, we will assist indigenous and traditional peoples of forest areas to develop environmentally sustainable businesses that utilize the almost limitless supply of renewable resources. We will then work with our partners to inform and empower the planet's eco-conscious citizens to actively support these forest-friendly products, projects, and programs.While our primary goal is to halt global warming through the protection of our rainforests, there are many other practical (and very human) benefits of our programs that correspond fully with the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals. These 8 critical goals were established at the UN's Millennium Summit to address the wide-range of problems associated with extreme poverty (lack of adequate food, health care, education, shelter, etc.) as well as promoting gender equality, human rights, and environmental sustainability.We hope you will share our global vision of hope and empowerment by joining us in any way you can.
