Robbo

I'm a 19 year old up and coming DJ named Robbo (born mark :-P) from East Kilbride near Glasgow in Scotland. I decided earlier this year to take up DJ'ing and production through a love of music, and the trance/hard trance/hard dance (I also enjoy a good bit of alternative stuff like Electro & Dirty House) scene in particular. After many a night out in clubs across the country including Nation(Cream) in the heart of Liverpool and The Arches in Glasgow I decided to take my first full step towards what I want to do by purchasing my first set up (currently Stanton c303's and a Stanton mixer) after speaking to a few pro DJ's who advised me on the CD route as opposed to vinyl. Coming from a musical background is something that I know will benefit me greatly in DJ'ing and in the production of Trance music, having played in bands for many years and also studied the music indursty inluding production techniques for a couple of years at uni. At the moment I spend a lot of time practicing my DJ'ing techniques and doing a lot of reading, and learning about production, along with the obvious keeping up with the scene, going to see the pro's in action, and keeping my music collection bang up to date. I hope to be making my way onto the scene by next summer, more than likely starting out in East Kilbride/Glasgow etc, and working closely with my mate and fellow up and coming DJ, D.A. (aka Davie Allan). Until that time I'll be locked away getting things the way I want them to be and making sure that when the time comes, people are goin' to love what they hear. I am also considering going to college at some point to further my skills and knowledge, and a wee trip abroad in summer 08 might even be on the cards, but for now, watch this space!
