Gee,where do I start?I've had an illustrious career so far, so let's back a number of years.I graduated from the High School of Art & Design located in New York City;my original love was to be a comic book artist. After graduating and realizing that college was not for me at that time, I joined up with Uncle Sam for 2 years in the Army where I got stationed in Germany which was pretty cool.I figured that if I have to be away from home, I'll make it as far away as I can. They say in those Army ads to be all you can be, but I came to see that kind of lifestyle was not for me,so I opted not to re-enlist and got out.Even recently as a few years ago, my dad had asked me why don't I go back into some reserve unit, and I said, you must be nuts, with everything that is going on over in Iraq right now.Coming home from he Army,I decided to go for a civil service career as a Correction Officer.Didn't think I'd stay as long as I did, but here I am with my pension.Back in 1999, I finally decided to go to college and go I did at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, also located in New York City.I received my A.S. In Correction Administration in 2003 and my B.A. in Forensic Psychology in 2006.Now that I have the time to pursue what really interests me, I went forward with my plans to break into the comic book biz somewhere as an artist/inker going back to my first love.I had been illustrating a childrens' book and was told by an agent from the publishing company that it is getting published in the not too distant future, but unfortunately, the writer for that has shelved his project for the time being. But the good news is that I have come across another writer(a criminal court judge) who I am currently working with to illustrate his childrens' book.I inked a short story called The Misadventures of Uncle Doug which will be featured in Slam Bang #3 out now from Fanatic Press showcasing the peerless pencil work of Giancarlo Lima and the surly scripting of Chris Moshier.I am actually featured twice in this anthology-the ink job and a 2 page comic strip about nurses working in a hospital.A friend of mine from school, Jeff Sorrell, came up with the initial concept for this.We are planning to put out our own anthology with hospitals/doctors/nurses, etc. as the theme with the book tentatively titled Rx Tales. For a writer in Chicago, I worked as a co-illutsrator on his project called The Young Vindicators which will see the light of day in July.
