First of all, I want to start by saying " © Tek " ... Anyway, your probably here because I've added you or you came across the link to my profile via another person's friends... Ok... Music... My earliest memory of listening to music was when I remember hearing a song called "Reet Petite" by Jackie Wilson, and crying, because I didn't like his, at what I thought at the time, scary voice! By the age of 5, I began listening to Michael Jackson albums on cassette... At the time, MJ was my hero... I imitated his dancing (well, at least tried to!) at family events... Not intent with aspiring to just one performer, & my Dad being a big Motown, Northern Soul & Reggae fan, I began hearing alot of material from the likes of The Temptations, The Marvelettes, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Bobby Womack, Curtis Mayfield, Ken Boothe etc... These early memories are evident in my now quite varied interest in music... The main genres I listen to are Hip-Hop & Reggae... That doesn't mean I don't appreciate other music, but I have my preferences... I inflicted my burden on this world on 1st August 1985... Born to an English father and an English/Guyanese/Portuguese mother and raised in South London... Although I showed a great interest in music in my first 5-6 years of life, my interest seemed to fade until about 8 years later, when I began to listen to Hip-Hop music, influenced by school friends... At first, my interest was extremely commercial... Artists such as Eminem, Wu-Tang, Nas & Goodie Mob were amongst the first few acts I listened to frequently... I then began branching out, and researching lesser known Hip-Hop artists (too many to mention!)... To cut a long story short, I thought I could do a better job at making beats and writing rhymes than some of the shit I'd been exposed to in the past... So a friend of mine handed me Fruity Loops 4.0 on CD (the cracked version), and I began to experiment... Still using FL and FL only! Progression is inevitable in literally anything... I don't aspire to simple-mindedness... I aspire to 'the greats'... I acknowledge the pioneers and tip my hat to them for what they done for the "game"... I only embrace what I feel is good music... As of recent, I've began to open up my eyes and mind to the wicked ways of the corrupted Governments across the land, and it's real fucked up... Realness, politics and consciousness is what you can expect to hear in my music... If I think something's shit, I'll tell people I think it's shit... Honesty is the best policy... My alias' are Tek Nang, Complekz and Ambitektrous 9ha ha gwan Rev!) And... Just to let everyone know, every beat, apart from "Excellent" and "Reveal It" (which both feature me but are produced by my man Rev), "This Place Is Nutz" (produced by my dude Matman, which I feature on) and "The Hardest Working" (produced by my dude Issue One, also featuring me) is produced, arranged and mixed down by ME and ME ONLY. If you would like to know anything else, including purchasing or leasing instrumentals (I only do hip-hop I'm afraid, sorry no grime!), then feel free to holla @ me... Waste guys need not contact me... Interested in collaborating with SERIOUS ARTISTS ONLY who talk relevance... If you hear a beat your feeling, let me know, and if it ain't already taken or I don't plan to do anything on it with my peoples, holla @ me! Also holla if you'd like me to spit a 16 on a track of yours, as rapping is my forte.
