The summer of 1996 saw Dipps start his musical career as a 15 old boy was taken on by the legendry Bhangra band Apna Sangeet. As the bands keyboard player, Dipps continues to live a lifetime dream of performing and toured with his boyhood idols live on stage a decade later. He’s toured all over the UK and a collection of international performances in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Austria, Turkey, Canada, America and India.In 1999 Dipps began to work as a studio engineer with his father KS Bhamrah at their recording studio in Birmingham. An amazing list of Asian acts have worked along with Dipps at the BR Studios including Lehmber Hussainpuri, Sabar Koti, Nirmal Sidhu, Punjabi MC, Rizwan & Maqadam Qawal, Punjabi Hit Squad, Moneyspinners, Apna Sangee, Hunterz and many unsigned and up coming Bhangra acts.In 2003 began life as a stand in presenter for the BBC Asian Network on the Chart show. This led to him becoming one of the most versatile presenters on the standby roster as Dipps presented Late Nights, Album Chart, Film Café, Sunday Soundtrack, Lunch, Breakdown and special one off shows like The Bhangra All Nighter, The Bollywood All-Nighter and the Desi Decades special for BBC Asian Networks’ Home Grown! Dipps also went on tour with the Asian Network in 2005 as tour DJ playing out in Leeds, London and Nottingham. In April 2006 Dipps was give his first show as the very last presenter of The Mix!In June 2006 Dipps moved to present a groundbreaking show which brings together the life, culture and language of Brit-Asian people. The English, Punjabi bi-lingual show, called the Weekend Punjabi Show (Sunday 5-7pm), has now become one of the most popular shows on the Asian Network playing everything Punjabi – Manak, Maan & Noor Jehan to Juggy D, Sukshinder Shinda & Punjabi MC.2002 saw the release of Dipps Bhamrah’s debut album ‘Take One’. The album received much critical acclaim and airplay from the likes of Radio 1’s Bobby Friction & Nihal Presents show and the late great John Peel, who went on to play every piece of production which Dipps’s has produced. Since then, Dipps has produced music for Apna Sangeet’s ‘Diamond Cuts’ and the Serious Records compilations ‘Getting’ Serious’ and ‘Ne Baliye’ which has become one of the best albums of 2006.Dipps is currently working on finalising his 2-DESI project along side Brit-Asian vocalist Bobby Jheeta. The album ‘Raw Talent’ is set to launch in the summer of 2007 on the 4-Play records banner and features vocals, lyrics and music from traditional to ‘Funked Up Bhangra’!A producer, musician, DJ, host and presenter for the BBC Asian Network…Dipps Bhamrah is finally making a name in his own right as a multitalented entity and is now on the journey to showcase Punjabi music and culture to the masses.
