Romei Jones is his government. Also known as Row tha Hood's Hero, is a Hip Hop MC out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was nick named tha Hood's Hero by his close homeboy Ice Dude because he felt Row would be a savior to Hip Hop, and would be a positive influence world wide. Row, along with his fellow artists, the Tarry Town Rangers emerged upon the Ap's rap scene in 2004, as they leaked thru the streets with there first mixtape called The Nerve Of These Niggas Vol. 1. He and the Rangers took the city by surprise with well put together collaborations like "We Ride," "Get Up on That," and "Plan B".
Row is not your average rapper considering the fact that he did not start music career until after he graduated fro high school. It wasn't until after a semester of freshman year in college before Row would actually realize that Hip Hop was his true love. He began taking his music more and more seriously with every rap that he wrote. He used the positive feedback from his peers as fuel to continue making music, which has influenced the discovery of his passion for Hip Hop.
In 2005, Row and the Rangers started there performance experiences at small nightclubs and talent shows. They would perform original songs from there mixtapes at clubs like the Red Sea, Euphoria, and The Blue Nile. They continued to crash the small clubs with persistance, determined to make progress on the local rap scene. There outstanding shows began to create a buzz around Minneapolis, influencing the birth of there growing fan base. Later the same year, the rangers opened up for major recording artists such as, Freeway and Dem Franchise Boys.
Even back when Row was young, he knew he had a love for music and he wanted to showcase his talent to others. "I've been a Hip Hop head since I can remember, but I didn't take it seriously until I was out of high school." Row feels that he has been inspired or influenced by damn near everyone in the Hip Hop Industry from Run DMC to T.I., from Grand Master Flash to DJ Kay Slay. From Dr. Dre to Swizz Beats, and from wack battle raps to single classics...
Row is a witty lyricist with the versitility to ride any beat, he has an original delivery that compliments his humble, but unmatched swagger. With his determination, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, Row plans on taking the world by storm once his flow is exposed nationwide. Row has goals of becoming not only a successful artist, but an Entrepreneur as well. He plans to venture into other industries like clothing, retail, and his own record label as his career progresses. Even members of his own click find it hard to believe that Row has only been rapping for five years, and he's still able to make quality music, calling him a "fast learner". Its clear that Row has the potential to make alot of noise and turn many heads in the Hip Hop Community. Being that the Minneapolis area doesn't have alot of history in Hip Hop, Row thinks that he has an opportunity to ensure the recognition his city has been awaiting. Tha Hood's Hero plans to not only entertain people, but educate the youth on revelent issues and be a role model to those that look up to him. "I feel its important to be honest with the people, thats why I try to come from the heart when I spit, if I was tryin to get a paycheck I couldn't call myself a music artist."
