Janel Elizabeth is one of the New York area's most accomplished young jazz and blues singers, with a resume that includes appearances at the world-famous Birdland jazz club with David Berger and the Sultans of Swing, and the coveted position of featured singer with drumming legend Max Weinberg's upcoming new Big Band. In October of 2007, she was invited by Weinberg to perform alongside Bruce Springsteen at an exclusive concert at the drummer's New Jersey home. Janel's debut jazz recording, Live at Ronnie Scott's, was recorded in the Spring of 2008 at the world-famous Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London, and features the club's venerable house band, led by pianist James Pearson. Janel has also recorded and released a self-titled pop/rock record of original material, produced and co-written by Sahaj Ticotin of the successful rock band Ra. Janel Elizabeth is currently collaborating with Alex Brumel and have formed a band called Alex Brumel & Janel Elizabeth. They are performing regularly with a full backing band led by drummer/musical director Eric Novod. The band features drums, acoustic bass, electric guitar, and a revolving door of New York City’s leading horn and string players. Alex and Janel are also available to perform as an acoustic duo.
