We started off as "that thing you do" but changed our name as we were fed up of dodgy dj’s and compares introducing us as "that thing that you do". We took the name from the tom hanks film, "that thing you do" based on a sixties one hit wonder band "the wonders". We changed our name about three years ago to the amarillos because Pete and Matt thought it was a good idea at the time. The six of us have been together for over six years, picking and choosing which gigs we take as we only work by recommendation, but all of us were in bands before. And just to prove that we still have it we are going back in to the studio this year to record some of our own music as well as some more covers. We have played all over the place including some great local venues like the JJB Stadium, Haigh Hall and Newtown Working Men’s Club to name drop just a few. We do quite a bit of charity work and even have our own DJ who we will bring along, so this guarantees’ no dodgy dj’s at your do.
