Wormwood Subs

About Me

From behind the shiny, bright scaffolding and construction façades of an East End in vitro regeneration comes a collaboration concept of art, music and poetry that is born from a world ripped apart by intolerance and creeping authoritarianism.
Here the artists take their inspiration from the London that surrounds them.
The proscribed Victorian London of filth, shadows, violence and poverty was a playground for villains and murderers, for Jack The Ripper and those that wished to be him. Here lies the inspiration for music and poetry with appalling resonance today.
And the birth of punk and the anger that was realised in the 70’s but continued to twist and shape into a splinter scene of libertarianism and obliteration; rhetoricians and poets; composers and fashionistas. An art scene heralded as the most influential since 1977 cracked and began a slow, public peeling on 7th June 2004. May it rest uneasy and rise again.
There are many artists here, some name checked, others not. A few can be found amongst our friends. And our friends are always welcome to become artists here.
