Background.
Leland Chapman is Duane 'DOG' Chapman's 3rd son from a previous marriage. He is partner in 'Da Kine Bail Bonds' which is owned by 'DOG' & his wife Beth. But things didn't used to be like they are today. Growing up Leland didn't see his dad until he was 8 years old.
At the age of 13, Leland decided to join a gang in Denver, Colorado and got into a lot of trouble. Because of this his Dad kept a close eye on him; making sure he went to school and knowing where Leland was all the time. Obviously, this negatively affected Leland's social life, as no one wanted to 'hang out' with him out of fear that Dog would spy on them.
Soon later, after a mugging incident involving a firearm, Leland was given a choice. He could either stay with his mum but go to a youth detention centre for 4 years or he could go and live with his dad in Hawaii. He decided to go live with 'DOG' and got a job at the local 'K-Mart'.
At the age of 18, Leland's first son, Dakota, was born. Not long after, he quit his job at the 'K-Mart' and at the age of 21 he started Da Kine Bail bonds with his dad and Beth.
Leland is often known as his dad's 'right hand man' and takes care of the 'Da Kine Bail Bonds' in Kona, on mainland Hawaii. He now has a second son, Cobie and shares a close relationship with both his mum, dad and step-parents and often appears on his dad's show, 'Dog The Bounty Hunter' with his uncle, brother sister and beth.
Boxing.
Leland divides is time between his business, 'Da Kine Bail bonds', and, up to three years ago, he was competing in boxing, kick boxing, mixed martial arts and extreme boxing. He has competed in many competitions with many successful wins which has one him many titles such as, 'Hawaii Tough Man' , 'The Rage in the Cage' and 'So you think you are tough'. After many years of fighting and even more years of gaining injuries, Leland now divides his time as a man behind the ropes. He supports the local clubs in Hawaii and even helps to train some fighters with Sonny, a friend to not only Leland, but 'DOG' and the rest of the crew aswell.
Leland says that his 3 main influences in life are; His dad, his sons; Dakota & Cobie, and the Spirit of Hawaii.
