Band Members:
Rancy, age 20
Lead Singer/Songwriter
A classically-trained musician, Rancy studied violin and solfeggio at a classical music conservatory; writes lyrics, and has been singing since childhood: parish choirs, various bands. A founding member.
Maudit, age 20
Lead Guitar/ Vocals/Songwriter
Another founding member, he started playing guitar at nine, studied classical guitar, has a diploma for classical guitar studies. Thanks to Queen and Guns n’ Roses he discovered Rock & Roll. It also sparked a love affair with playing solo, and led up a new path: the blues, a genre that’s still heavily influencing many of today’s hard rock bands. His idols: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Brian May, Slash.
Along with brother Andrew Lord, is the band’s musical minds, writing songs, weaving his solo guitar throughout each song. Also sings, and chorus.
Kell , age 19
Bass
Originally a guitarist, he was persuaded by Andrew to learn and play bass and join the band. That was four years ago; since, he’s displayed skill and a creative touch that hammers, light or strong, on each track. He also writes songs; on Burst Out Of There, he wrote “Is It Rightâ€. Among previous projects, The Fire, a band with Sett and Andrew, and the Snare, wherein he played guitar.
Sett Sertao, age 19
Guitar/Vocals
Sett has been playing since forever – okay, he’s only 20. His innate rhythmic ability allows him
to play any sort of accompaniment, with an enormous reserve for playing powerful solos; in Burst Out Of There, his overlap with Maudit’s. Between 6 and 8, he studied piano; also sings. Previously member of The Fire, with Andrew and Kell; played a duet with Maudit before The Lies was borne.
Andrew Lord, age 18
Drums/Vocals/Songwriter
Studied percussion at the age of 5, a natural born killer of a drummer? But he soon had to abandon it because “ill-advised†– too young; so, he studied piano for two years, and learned guitar from brother Maudit when nobody was looking. At the age of 12, he discovered Queen and it was love at first sound. He decided to start studying drums again; for six months he met with a jazz teacher for formal lessons, then continued on his own, firmly believing in his own natural powers of creativity and ingenuity – with a close ear to whatever his idols were doing, too, of course. Also sings and writes songs, alone, or with brother Maudit. Before The Lies, played keyboards and sang in The Fire, with Sett and Kell.
Influences: Queen, Guns ’N Roses, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Velvet Revolver, The Darkness, AC/DC, Slash’s Snakepit
