About Me

Jon Ford's interested in club DJing and remixing started when he was in school when he set up a mobile disco specialising in weddings and birthdays. Set up with 2 school mates, he became one third of JKC Disco's.
They soon got their name about and ended up being very popular around Flintshire and Chester.
2 years on, Jon wanted something more from DJing. Instead of attempting to mix "Rivers of Babalon" into "C'mon Irlene" he wanted to be scratching and sampling his way to fame.
An investment in decks was a wise choice, and after just 2 months of owning his first pair of Stantons, he was offered a guest slot at local club, "Scotts".
Being a better DJ than the resident helped Jon secure more slots and Scotts and secured him 2nd place at his first DJ comp in XS - the same place where Juice FM's Anton Powers made his way to fame.
With Scotts under his belt, Jon aimed for a better clubbing area to DJ in. After approching a Ba Baa's manager, he was offered a set at the club in Wigan. Unfortunately, with this being on the top floor, and with funky house being played on the ground floor, Jon only received a handful of clubbers that night. However, he ventured on and spent a day handing out demo CDs around Liverpool.
This was a day well spent for Jon as he got his best contract to date - Saturday afternoons in huge designer clothes shop, right in the centre of Liverpool.
Over 2 years of 5-hr sets, Jon DJ'd to thousands of shoppers, including a few celebs who popped in for some items. The celebs included the ginger from Girls Aloud, local DJs and even Roger Sanchez; when a local airline lost his luggage hours before he was due to drop a set in Liverpool.
CDs Jon had mixed were handed out to shoppers and he soon saw a small gathering of fans approachiing him when he was doing his sets.
After the shop closing down, Jon hit his lowest point of his DJ career, spending 6 months without touching his decks, let alone having a guest spot anywhere!
However, in the summer of 2006, Jon saw Dave Booth DJing a guest set at local Chester club, Lot 76. Two days later, he was down in his local record shop buying enough promos to put together what would be his comeback CD.
3 weeks after turning his DJ career around, Jon was offered a guest spot at Lot 76. Whats more, Jon had his name plastered all around Chester on Lot 76 flyers and posters advertising his up-and-coming set.
9 months on and Jon has been a regular call-back for Lot 76 and he can regulary be seen there doing another of his infamous guest sets.
One of Jon's DJ hopes had been conquered - his name on a flyer. His next focus was his name on a vinyl. Over the years, Jon has experimented in a number of mash-ups (seen on MySpace) and just 2 weeks ago, Jon was approached by indepent record company, GB Tunes, about releasing his best mash-up to date, "1000 Birds".
April 08 has seemed a popular month for Jon. First he was entered into a DJ comp at the UKs biggest club - Syndicate, in Blackpool. Jon managed to swap the dancefloor with clubbers from playing a mix of remixed classics from Airwave to Nalin n Kane. Although Jon didnt win, Jon was determined to continue on the club scene....another demo CD was released!
This time, using professional photos and a DVD case, jon sent off 15 demo CDs around Chester, Liverpool and Warrington. A week later, Jon got a call from Rosies in Chester asking to come down for a night. Due to an engagement party (his!!), Jon couldnt make that night, but they have promised to call again soon. But the next day, Jon got a call from the sister of Syndicate, "Synergy" in Warrington - the brand new Superclub! Jon went down a storm doing a warm up set for Rock FM's Mark Freejack and is in talks with the club to do another set soon!
So, watch this space to see if Jon furthers his career around the North West
