Dauðr started up in 2005 by Roberth Svensson
(ex-Necrocide, ex- Wargmåne) and Mårten Ytell
(Praetorian Platoon, ex-Wargmåne), as an
"rebirth" of their old band Wargmåne.
Focus is laid upon rythm and attitude and they
will, in their own way, bring you what they think
is important in this kind of music.
Dauðr is old norwegian for Death.
What better name for a band with clear and
immediate roots in "old" norse black metal and in
the early swedish death metal scenes?
The norwegian black metal sound is the very
foundation of our music, but we wanted to
introduce it to the (extremly) old swedish scene,
thus introducing the violin and very talented
Thomas von Wachenfeldt (De Tveksamma)
to our music completed the "sound" of Dauðr.
