System Decay, were formed in December 2005, by Angelos Komninos (Lead Guitars) and Christos Brintzikis (Rhythm Guitars, Vocals). The first name of the band was "Subterfuge". Due to the existance of an other band with the same name, they were forced to change it to the current name, which is inspired by the famous KREATOR song.
After the composure of two songs (The end Of Nothing and Subterfuge) Angelos and Christos, started to search for new members. Christos Charalambidis (Bass guitar) and Aris Labos (Vocals) were the first who joined the band, while few days later Marios Flekkas (Drums) also joined the group to complete the first System Decay line-up.
Few days after the first gig of the Band (29/06/2006) Marios split ways with System Decay due to musical differences. The search for a new drummer begun instantly. Romanos, was the first drummer who joined The group after Marios' departure, but few weeks later System Decay were forced to sack him, because he couldn't cope with the band's schedule.
John Thomas (now in GOD FEAR NONE) was the one to replace Romanos. With john as a drummer, System Decay developed their sound to more aggressive paths. The band also qualified in the finals of the first "Greek Battle Of The Bands". After almost 4 months John decided to leave the band to focus in his project at the time. The search for a new drummer took months, but finally Kostas Papakostas was the most suitable guy for the job!
At the moment, System Decay have just finished their first mini CD named "The End Of Nothing". The band has also announced the participation in two festivals this summer and of course they are planning to book gigs around Greece.
Finally in October, System Decay will the studio again, in order to record their first Full Length album...
