About Me

More tunes on our website...

Formed in the centre of the Universe from the long burning embers of the adolescent fire of musical incipience. Zelig are an intriguing 4 piece alternative indie band who blend equal measures of naive regret and honesty; with reticent self examination and arrogance. Set against the phonic canvass of fervent velveteen glory, jaunty folk-pop and itchy, prog, power-funk.

Boasting comparisons with artists such as Gomez, Down, Pearl Jam, Frank Zappa, Soundgarden, Jethro Tull, Beth Orton, Fratellis, Pretty Things, Led Zeppelin, T-Rex, Talking Heads, Super Tramp and Guillemots; Zelig are as diverse as they are coherent and pull from wide ranging influences to create a refreshingly original, yet challenging, sound. A feat accomplished by a balanced blend of differing styles and attitudes, bound together with a lifetime of understanding and respect for each other.

Zeligs passion for creating their own brand of music is matched only by the satisfaction of personally connecting these songs with an audience, live.

The Zelig live show is a showcase for the bands versatile sound, which can be, and often is, tailored to the particlular audience and venue; whether it be high-octane energetic glory; or austere, intimate emotion. Such a dedication was rewarded when Zelig took the stage at The Birmingham Academy to open for The Fratellis on their 2008 tour.
