Born in Rome – Italy - Paolo Marozzo a.k.a. “P.J. Master†since the beginning of his career and differently from the majority of Italian DJs, has decided to follow a live and artistic style focused on the deep knowledge of the digital sound.
He based his performances on the endless and creative possibilities of the AKAI Professional samplers, of which he soon became the official national testimonial through the Italian import company GRISBY MUSIC s.r.l..
PJ Master’s career started in 1985, time characterized by music in continuous evolution, which saw the birth of the HOUSE MUSIC (the real one) as well as the international D.M.C. scratching challenges.
PJ Master’s curiosity for those challenges brought him to London in 1988 with the Italian DJ team to support the Italian D.M.C. champ in the final at the Royal Albert Hall.
He was back in London in 1990 for his first real live performance at the HIPPODROME disco club, where the first important connections and the more extreme musical contaminations began.
During that time, his first record ‘Ecstasy beat’, produced by the EXPANDED MUSIC, came out and the promotion in the best clubs of Turin, Milan and Venice started.
The second, ‘Dance kriminals’ and third, ‘Body’s groove’ records soon followed, with the latter made in collaboration with Manuela Gubinelli (Taleesa) choir voice of Stefano Secchi dj.
The friendship he started with Mozart Dj, Master Freeze and Double Dee led to his fourth record ‘It’s my beat’ produced by IRMA label. In the meantime, the consolidation of the work association with the GRISBY MUSIC, induced PJ Master to move to Ancona and to start his own recording and music production company, the TRIBE FACTORY RECORDS.
His company released several interesting productions until 1996. During that period, PJ Master’s career benefited from valuable collaborations with national and international high caliber artists and from stronger connections with the most famous DJs, Claudio Coccoluto, Ralf, Dave Morales and others.
He had performed live at the most important music fairs and national events, such as the Motor Show in Bologna (with Radio Italia Network), SIB in Rimini (with AKAI Professional), Night-Wave in Rimini, Pesaro Musical Fair, Milan Fair and Frankfurt Fair.
His stable presence as “Special Guest†at these numerous events reinforced the relationships with Radio Italia Network, Trend Discotec Magazine and the TV shows, Crazy Dance, Match Music and Power Night.
PJ Master had played in the most exclusive clubs of Italy: in Milan, in Veneto, Umbria, Sicily, Puglia, Campania (specifically @ the METROPOLIS in Naples), @ the COCORICO, PRINCE and PASCIA in Riccione, and PETER PAN , BYBLOS, EKU and GOTHA in Rimini, just to give few names.
At the SIB in Rimini in 1993, his samplers synchronized with the AKAI D-D 1000 digital recorder created the most incredible and innovative performance of the whole event.
The same year (1993) at the disco club Le Cinema in Milan, PJ Master received the award as the Best Live Performance of the Year among the best 100 Italian DJs and began his Trend Discotec tour throughout Italy.
The launch of the AKAI Remix 16 sampler in 1996, project on which PJ Master actively worked with AKAI JAPAN, resulted in his participation to the Radio Italia Network afternoon program with Andrea Pellizzari.
The program was based on the “integral†remix of the songs from the “LOS CUARENTA†Official Italian Dance Chart.
PJ Master made a great come back into the international dance scene in 2007, with an amazing tour in the world most exclusive dance clubs.
He performed twice at the trendy PACHA in IBIZA (the notorious world class dance club always been at the forefront of innovation in dance music) during the summer and at the APPARTMENT CLUB in DUBAI and CREAM in MIAMI.
Also, he played at the most renowned club in Europe, the MINISTRY OF SOUND in London, an important occasion that produced numerous recording collaborations with the UK team of the Ministry and a gratifying invitation to return as a special guest for the promotion of his next album ‘MAIN ROOM EP’, soon to be released worldwide.
This album, “ELECTRO HOUSE†style, made in collaboration with EVE CAREY (the well-known UK Dj from Birmingham) has been recorded and produced in Italy at the TRADE REC. INTERNATIONAL studios, the new records company of which PJ Master is founder, owner and producer.
