Dientes de Caramelo - Candy Teeth. It had to happen in New York, half way between Seattle and Seville for this Indie Rock and Flamenco project to take place. Dientes de Caramelo is Jed Miley, Kevin Bookhamer and Alfonso Cid’s new Flamindie Rock Band. After having performed their first set at the Zipper Factory in New York City to an enthusiastic audience, the band has been in the studio developing and building their distinct sound. For more info log on: http://www.dientesdecaramelo.com/ The Band: Jed Miley grew up in Seattle were he was involved in the Indie Rock scene as well as Flamenco. It is his curiosity about this art form that took him to study flamenco guitar in the Cristina Heeren Fundation for Flamenco Art in Sevilla, Spain. Since his arrival in New York City he has performed with the majority of flamenco artists in the Tri-State area as well as running his own studio were he experiments with R & B, Hip Hop, Rock and Flamenco sounds. Kevin Bookhamer, another native of Seatle, runs his own Indie Rock band, Moonbird Atlantic. This New York City band has been playing together for more than a year. The release of their self-produced demo — combined with live performances in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island — has earned Moonbird Atlantic a loyal and growing following. Alfonso Cid. arrived in New York in 1997 from Sevilla, Spain. Alfonso has played with the majority of Flamenco artists through out the country, performing and touring in the Tri-State area, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, Connecticut, Atlanta, Florida, Virginia, Kentucky, Toronto, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Spain. He released his first CD – “Flamenco de Vuelta e Ida” with his band Gazpacho Andalú in 2006.
