We're Bringin HealthyBack!
Our Mission:
The Youth Health Alliance is dedicated to promoting health awareness to the youth of our community by means of providing information concerning health related issues. We achieve this goal by showcasing informational material in the form of brochures, presentations, e-mail, and videos. These prompts will be presented, as well as distributed to the community, including, schools, hospitals, and public facilities. We support and encourage advocacy, research in illnesses/diseases affecting youths both directly and indirectly, education of health awareness, and participation in fulfilling our mission. This mission is subject to changes as our organization becomes larger and changes will be verified and voted by the board of directors.

Minh Nguyen and I, Paul Tran have started a non-profit organization called the Youth Health Alliance . We are not in any case health care professionals, however, we are currently working on our undergraduate coursework at the University of Washington and Washington State University. We both want to help people within our community and globally, this will not only help us learn more about taking care of ourselves but additionally prepare us for a future occupation in the health care field.
You may want to know what the "Youth Health Alliance" does? Well we promote health awareness and cover pretty much every aspect we can. We decided the best way to disseminate information was to broadcast educational videos through YouTube, Myspace, Facebook, and other social networking sites. These communication mediums are the most widely used for the targeted demographic we are trying to reach.
Our goal is to help the youth today build a foundation, so that they can construct a healthy lifestyle early on during adolescence. It is very difficult to break old habits later in life, this is why we stress the importance of eating healthy and exercising regularly at an early age. Thus, we hope to engage the youth by taking a different approach with social marketing.

Our group has decided to try "YOUTUBE" as one of our ways to communicate to the youth. We will try to make videos discussing various health topics. We ask members/friends to share any ideas they want to see in these youtube videos. In fact, we ENCOURAGE everyone to make their own video discussing a health topic they are interested in. We don't mind how you articulate your topic, be creative, just keep it clean! Just send your videos to us and we will post them on our page. In the next few weeks we will be posting our own videos, and start skits, dicussions, music videos, ect... whatever we come up with! Thank you!
-Please post any comments or ideas you have!
