About Me

FOR MORE INFO ABOUT SONG: SOUTHERNERSONNEWGROUND.ORG. THE BEST WAY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH US IS GET OUR EMAILS OFF OF THE SONG SITE :)I was born in 1993, and my purpose is to build movement across the South for progressive social change and liberation with organizing that connects race, class, culture, gender and sexual identity. Our work is rooted in the understanding that there is no liberation in isolation. We focus on local communities in twelve states of the southeast, providing an important regional infrastructure for building progressive lesbigaytrans organizing in the traditionally conservative, under-resourced south. We serve Southern organizers who want to do multi-issue, cross- constituency organizing. When working with lgbtq organizers, we intentionally prioritize those who are under-represented in movement work: rural/small town, women, young people, trans people, people of color, and poor/working class. We focus on people who want to move within an anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, and anti-classist framework and who seek skills and information on how to do that more effectively, and a SONG community in which to live it out.
